Therapy can help, often more than people realize
My work focuses on helping people with stress, relationship problems, anger, anxiety, and depression. I specialize in treating people with several overlapping areas of concern.
Sometimes negative self-talk can keep people stuck in counterproductive patterns. Sometimes people get stuck feeling too much anger, anxiety, or depression to avoid other difficult emotions. Sometimes people get emotionally stuck because of experiences in relationships or old habits. Our difficulties usually have many causes. Effective therapy needs to attend to all of them.
People aren’t all the same. I help my patients with the approach that best fits their needs—support processing emotions, help exploring negative self-talk, or techniques to cope in the short term. Often this requires techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, and other evidenced-based therapies.
Therapy can enrich someone’s entire life. It can help people think more clearly, have better relationships, and work more effectively. It can lead to a greater sense of richness, vitality, and groundedness. Therapy can help, often more than people realize.
